Christian Education Seminar - March 19, 7PM

Please join us for an education seminar on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 7PM at Lighthouse Baptist Church. Steve Labins, Executive Director of the Golden State Baptist Association of Christian Schools will be our guest speaker. We will have refreshments afterwards.

Three Key Institutions

There are three key institutions that shape a child. They are the home, the church, and the school. Children are served best when all three institutions point them in the same direction. As a three legged stool is dangerous and ineffective if one leg is missing or out of place, so is the education and equipping of a child if one of these institutions are at odds with the others. At Lighthouse Baptist School, we point our students toward the direction of Jesus Christ and a life of direction in accordance with His Word.

Preparing Students

The best preparation for a child to have an effecive, profitable, and God honoring life is to ensure they are very will grounded in God's Truth before engaging the world's culture alone. At Lighthouse Baptist School, our students are taught that the Word of God is Truth. All truth is God's truth. Christian Education is not focused on man's philosophy or mere possibilities but on the certainties found in God's Word.

Education Addresses the Whole Child

For an education to be considered one of excellence, the process must address the whole child (social, intellectual, emotional, physical, AND spiritual). The spiritual component must be of the nature to instill in the students godly morals and courage to affect their world for good and God's glory. At Lighthouse Baptist School, we offer your child that education of excellence.

Does God Tell Me How to Educate My Child?

The parent is the God-appointed leader and teacher of a child. It is not the responsibility of government. Therefore, the task of raising and teaching a child rests in the hands of the parents. One of the main goals of Christian parenting and education is to foster an environment for the child to know God in a very personal way and to encourage them to dedicate themselves to Him and His service. Nothing could be more important. Lighthouse Baptist School can assist the parent with this responsibility.

God teaches that the education of children is a 24/7 job that takes place from birth through maturity. This concept is illustrated in the verse below. As you read and meditate upon the verse, seriously consider where your child will get such an education:

Therefore shall ye lay up these words in your heart and in your soul... And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates: (Deuteronomy 11:18-20)

Why Christian Education?

The finest education is almost worthless unless your child develops the self-discipline, determination, and desire essential for success in life. It is only in a Christian school that:

Knowledge and human experiences can be interpreted in the light of God's Word.
Teachers have the right to help the child understand and accept New Testament moral values and to educate him so that the practice of these Christian virtues become the rule and not the exception.
Children are allowed (and encouraged) to pray, read the Bible, and memorize scripture.
Total education of the child - spiritual, moral, mental, social, and physical - can take place.
Discipline is interpreted in the light of the New Testament teachings.

Lighthouse Baptist School is built on the premise that God's Holy Word, the Bible, provides time-tested principles that enable the child to set and achieve proper goals. Our school will also consistently reinforce the parent's authority in your home and a sense of duty to God and country.
