K5 Classroom

K5 is an exciting program filled with plenty of things for the student to accomplish. Below is a sample of what they learn in class:

  • Bible
  • Skills Development
  • Phonics - learn how to read phonetically with a 450-word vocabulary in readers
  • Writing - cursive writing letters, words, and sentences
  • Activity Time
  • Numbers - concept and count 1 to 100, begin addition and subtraction
  • Phonics Review
  • Language Enrichment

The K5 program is a complete instructional program offering a range of subjects including cursive writing, numbers, Bible memory verses, and reading/phonics. Your child will learn the letters of the alphabet and will learn to read phonetically (450-word vocabulary). Children find that the K5 program is an enjoyable learning experience.


1-2nd Classroom

First and Second Grade is a combined classroom. 1st Grade learns the following:

  • Bible
  • Reading - Phonics and Word Analysis Skills
  • Phonics/Language/Spelling
  • Arithmetic - Emphasis on addition and subtraction, place value, time, money, story problems, and simple fractions, and measure
  • Activity Time
  • Writing - Spelling, cursive writing words and sentences
  • History, science, health, poetry, art

2nd Grade learns the following:

  • Bible
  • Reading (Frogs A.M.) - Phonics and Word Analysis Skills
  • Phonics/Language/Spelling
  • Arithmetic - Addition, subtraction, introduction to multiplication, division, Roman numerals, story problems, etc.
  • Activity Time
  • Writing - Vocabulary building, spelling, and cursive writing
  • History, science, health, poetry, art

3-6th Grade Classroom

The 3rd-6th grade class is a video classroom. 3rd Grade learns the following:

  • Bible
  • Reading - including Pilgrim's Progress
  • Language - Grammar, punctuation, penmanship, spelling, vocabulary, and creative writing
  • Arithmetic - Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, story problems, etc.
  • U.S. History - Studied through biographies of famous Americans, geography
  • Science - Natural and physical science
  • Health, Poetry, Art

4th Grade learns the following:

  • Bible
  • Reading - Character-building patriotic stories, vocabulary, speed reading
  • Spelling and Vocabulary - 30 words/definitions per week
  • Penmanship - Daily work on correct letter formation and writing
  • English - Grammar, usage, and composition, and book reports
  • U.S. History - includes six-week unit of state history (home teacher’s responsibility to collect teacher materials), geography
  • Science - Survey of earth science, matter, energy, plants, and animals
  • Arithmetic - drill in speed and accuracy in the four arithmetic processes, using fractions, measures, etc.
  • Health, Poetry, Art

5th Grade learns the following:

  • Bible
  • Reading - Character-building patriotic stories, vocabulary, speed reading
  • Spelling and Vocabulary - 35 words/definitions per week
  • Penmanship - Daily work on correct letter formation and writing
  • English - Grammar, usage, creative writing, library research project, and book reports
  • History and Geography - Eastern Hemisphere
  • Science - Survey of matter, energy, animals, earth, and space
  • Arithmetic - Decimals, geometric figures, word problems, etc.
  • Health, Poetry, Art

6th Grade learns the following:

  • Bible
  • Reading - Character-building patriotic stories, vocabulary, speed reading
  • Spelling and Vocabulary - 35 words/definitions per week
  • Penmanship - Daily work on correct letter formation and writing
  • English - Grammar, usage, creative writing, library research project, and book reports
  • History and Geography - Western Hemisphere
  • Science - Plants, animals, chemistry, earth, and space
  • Arithmetic - Fractions, decimals, percent, graphs, metric system, consumer math
  • Health, Poetry, Art

7-12th Grade Classroom

The 7th-12th grade classroom is a video classroom. 7th Grade learns the following:

  • Bible 7
  • English 7 - Grammar and usage, composition (book reports, research paper, writing processes), vocabulary, spelling, poetry, and literature
  • World History 7 - From Creation to the present in Christian perspective including geography, and current events
  • Life Science (includes health) - Introduction to scientific method, creation, classification, microscopy, ecology, plants, forestry, insects, vertebrates, the human body, science research paper
  • Basic Math - Maintaining skills in fundamental operations plus finances, graphs, statistics; introduction to algebra, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry

8th Grade learns the following:

  • Bible 8
  • English 8 - Grammar and usage, composition (book reports, research paper, writing processes), vocabulary, spelling, poetry, and literature
  • U.S. History 8 - Narrative study of exploration, settlement, and growth of America to present; includes geography study, state history, and current events
  • Earth and Space Science 8 - Studies in geology, fossil records, oceanography, atmosphere, weather, space, environmental science; science project
  • Pre-Algebra - Maintaining basic math operational skills, pre-algebra, business math, geometry, and problem-solving strategies

9th Grade learns the following:

  • Bible 9
  • Hebrew History
  • Kings of Israel – Bible student series with memory verses
  • English 9 - Grammar, composition, vocabulary, spelling, poetry, and literature
  • Algebra 1 - Linear equations; algebraic numbers; graphs; formulas; fundamental operations; special products and factoring; fractions; ratio, proportion, and variation; linear systems of equations; powers and roots; exponents and radicals; quadratic equations
  • Physical Science - Meteorology, oceanography, chemistry, geology, physics, lab demonstrations, science project
  • World Geography (one semester) - Study of seven continents with physical and political maps, current events
  • Health (one semester) - Nutrition, personal hygiene, body systems, mental health, first aid, disease prevention, drug abuse, right relationships, spiritual growth
  • Spanish 1 - Pronunciation, word formation, verse memorization as a witnessing tool, grammar, vocabulary, application

10th Grade learns the following:

  • Bible Doctrines - Study series on Bible doctrines with memory verses
  • English 10 - Grammar; composition; vocabulary; spelling; poetry; world literature, literary terms, complete novel: Silas Marner, complete play: Julius Caesar
  • World History - Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle Ages, the Reformation Era, the Age of Ideas, the twentieth century; current events
  • Biology - Botany; human anatomy and physiology; zoology; cellular and molecular biology; laboratory work: dissections, microscopy, field studies, nutrition, cellular biology, and science research project
  • Algebra 2 - Factoring; fractions; linear equations in one variable; coordinate geometry; variations and dependence; systems of equations; powers and roots; exponents, radicals, and imaginary numbers; quadratic and higher equations; logarithmic and exponential functions; numerical trigonometry; statistics and probability
  • Spanish 2 - Grammar, conversations, cultural readings, stories from the Life of Christ (witnessing tool), vocabulary, composition, interviews

11th Grade learns the following:

  • Life Management - How to live successfully in a contemporary world: learning to deal with relationships, safety, sex, drugs, job success, responsibilities, preparation for marriage; with Bible memory verses
  • New Testament: Jesus and His Followers (one semester)
  • Bible study of the Gospels with memory verses
  • English 11 - Grammar; composition; vocabulary; spelling; poetry; American literature, complete novel: The Scarlet Letter
  • U.S. History - Includes discovery of America, birth of nation, growing as a nation, American character, expansion and conflict, age of industry, world wars, depression, and present day; current events
  • Chemistry - Basic concepts; stoichiometry; elements, compounds, chemical reactions; gases; chemical thermodynamics; light, electrons, and atomic structure; periodic table; chemical bonds and intermolecular forces; selected nonmetals; selected metals and semimetals; solutions and colloids; chemical kinetics; chemical equilibrium; acids, bases, and salts; ionic equilibrium in solution; oxidation-reduction reactions; electrochemistry; nuclear and organic chemistry; weekly laboratory studies; science research project
  • Plane Geometry - Rectilinear figures, circle, proportions, similar polygons, surface polygons, regular polygons and circles, solutions of right triangles by means of ratios

12th Grade learns the following:

  • Revelation (one semester)
  • English 12 - grammar; composition; vocabulary; poetry; English literature, complete play: Macbeth, complete novel: Pilgrim’s Progress
  • Economics - Free enterprise capitalism, personal responsibility, Protestant work ethic, economics and political freedoms, hope for the future, research paper, current events
  • American Government - Foundations of American government, our constitutional republic, our federal republic, state and local study, current events
  • Precalculus - Traditional handling of Trigonometry and Analytic Geometry, along with an introduction to Calculus
  • Physics - Basic concepts, three states of matter, mechanics, thermodynamics, wave phenomena, light, electricity and magnetism, modern physics, labs
  • Elective - Speech (one semester)
  • Elective - Keyboarding - Basic keyboarding skills, introduction to business documents, formatting, letter styles, reports, and professional tables; designed for standard computer word processing programs
  • Elective - Document Processing - Provides daily practice, routine timed writings, skill evaluation exercises, and thorough instruction in document processing; designed for standard word processing programs
